Prepared to help Bangladesh solve Myanmar’s security problems
Desk: Bangladesh welcomes Indonesia’s interest in preventing ongoing violence in Rakhine state and negotiations with Myanmar to solve the Rohingya problem.
Wednesday (30 August) Indonesian Ambassador Rina Parthiyasamyarasi paid courtesy with Somnano Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali. Mahmud Ali said this to the Indonesian ambassador after discussing with the country’s Foreign Minister Rataneto Marsudi on Tuesday.
A press release from the Foreign Ministry said that in the meeting, Mahmud Ali expressed concern for the Rakhine Muslims entering Bangladesh.
He said, violent incidents of Rakhine increased after the attack on the post of Myanmar security forces.
Referring to the implementation of recommendations of the Rakhine Consultant Commission, led by Kofi Annan, for a lasting solution to the Rakhine crisis, the foreign minister said, “Bangladesh is ready to provide any kind of assistance to solve Myanmar’s security issues.”
